Fishing Times (rule 4)

The club rule for fishing between dawn and dusk (September until the end of April)is designed to preserve the excellent relationship that the club has with the Farmers, Land Owners and local residents.

It is unacceptable for the good name of the club to be damaged by any individual breaking this rule.

Consideration

Members should use the paths to and from the waters and not take any short cuts over farm fields. As a mark of respect for other anglers, and knowing how well sound can travel over water, the committee expects members to avoid shouting and awearing when fishing. members should also ensure that lines do not encroach into swims used by other anglers.

Road to Waters

The road which leads to our waters is narrow and oftern used by pedestrians and farm vehicles, it is essential that anglers drive with particular care when coming to and from our waters.

Litter

Any litter generated during fishing sessions is the responsability of the angler concerned and should not be left on the bankside, disgarded line, hooks and other items are a danger to the wildlife and a hazard for other anglers.

Surplus bait should not be lefton the bankside where it may encourage vermin, the committee is not adverse, however to surplus bait being thrown into the water at the end of the session

Fishing Times

Time Gentlemen Please ???

  1. Each year a numerous members enquire if night fishing would be possible in the future, this has been reviewed in the past and more recently and this activity is NOT PERMITTED.
  2. The land owners and the tenents of the land have significant safety and security concerns, we have always had good relations with the waters neighbours and do not wish to provoke any ill feelings.
  3. It is emphasised that with poor relations and transgressions outside of historic agreements could so easily loose our fishing rights.
  4. We have had a few complaints from the Bailiff's and the Farmer that some members are stretching this rule, Dusk means if you cannot see a float it is dark, you STOP FISHING AND LEAVE.

Please read your club card and don't spoil it for the others.

THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

Language Timothy

  1. This is about the odd members swearing at the waterside, we all should know that during calm conditions our conversations can carry across the water, where others can hear.
  2. We ask all members to be respectful to one and another and to be careful as we have Female and junior members fishing along side us.

Fish stocking

  1. Again we are continueing with the stocking policy for the three waters.
  2. Progressive annual stocking of the waters is occuring and we continueto monitor the catches from them.
  3. It takes time for fish to establish themselves into a water and that returns can be vastly affected by the recent poor summer weather, we have experienced over the last two years.
  4. However we should acknowledge that from four years ago the No1 & No2 waters are starting to provide better pleasure catches with more anglers fishing these waters.

Cautionary Notes To Anglers

  1. Many of our members enjoy fishing 2 or 3 rods when permitted.
  2. However, when doing this consideration should be givern to other members on the water or ajacent pegs where members my turn up and wish to fish.
  3. if you are casting a line towardsother pegs and someone else wishes to sit and fish from that peg, unfortunatly you will need to change your fishing line.
  4. In conclusion all we ask is for common sense and respect for others.
  5. Anglers are reminded that they are restricted to fishing from a single peg at a time.
